A board of directors is elected from amongst the companies that support ITF.

The Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (BERR) has an observer status on the board, this position is currently being occupied by Dr Cameron Stewart..

The board is responsible for the strategic direction of the company, in line with ITF members' aspirations. It meets formally at least four times a year.
