ITF is hosting two technology challenge workshops (TCWs) in Amsterdam this week focusing on technology issues surrounding tight/shale gas and coal bed methane, and enhanced oil recovery (EOR).
To be held in Amsterdam on March 17 and 18, these workshops are the first of the 2010 technology programme of Technology Challenge Workshops that will be held in various locations around the globe. This reflects the growing international membership of ITF and its continued commitment to addressing the technology challenges experienced by the global oil and gas industry.
Neil Poxon, managing director of ITF said:
"As the technology challenges set out by our members have global implications it is important that we continue to engage with developers, operators, major service companies and experts at international venues around the world.
"The ITF process promotes a collaborative approach and so we will be taking our technology challenge workshops to many of the major oil and gas hubs around Europe and the US, with a view to taking these further afield to the Middle East and Australasia."
The output of both workshops will be a global call for proposals to the international development community to come forward with solutions to the technology challenges which will be discussed during the workshops.
